How do I buy Pixelmator Pro?

Pixelmator Pro is an app built exclusively for Mac and is available for purchase on the Mac App Store.

Once you purchase Pixelmator Pro, the download should start automatically. There's nothing special you need to do to install the app once the download is complete — you can launch it from the Launchpad or the Applications folder on your Mac.

Tip: If the download gets interrupted and you cannot restart it, try restarting your Mac. Once your Mac restarts, go to the App Store, click your Apple ID in the sidebar on the left, and find Pixelmator Pro in your list of purchases.

Note: If you see the trial screen when you launch Pixelmator Pro, that means you still have the Pixelmator Pro trial installed somewhere on your Mac, so you should locate it and delete it – the trial will most likely be in your Downloads folder.

What are the requirements for installing Pixelmator Pro?

Pixelmator Pro requires macOS 12 Monterey or later and is fully optimized for Mac computers with Apple silicon.

How much does Pixelmator Pro cost?

The Pixelmator Pro price may vary from country to country. To get the most accurate prices in your region, visit the Pixelmator Pro product page in the App Store app on your device.

Is there a free trial available for Pixelmator Pro?

Yes! You can download the 7-day free trial of Pixelmator Pro on the Pixelmator Team's website. You don't need a credit card to install the trial, so once the trial period ends, you won't be charged and can simply delete the trial from your Mac.

How can I redownload Pixelmator Pro on a new device?

All your App Store purchases are tied to the Apple ID used to purchase them. To redownload Pixelmator Pro or to update it, you'll need to sign in to the App Store using the Apple ID that you used to purchase the app, then find it in the list of your purchased apps or pending updates.
If you're not seeing Pixelmator Pro in your list of purchases, make sure you're signed in to the App Store with the same Apple ID you initially used to purchase it, or see the Apple Support article for more info on redownloading your previous purchases.

Do I need to pay again to use Pixelmator Pro on another device?

Pixelmator Pro can be used on up to 6 Macs at a time with a single license, as long as you're signed into the same Apple ID on all of them, or are using Family Sharing.

If you have a Pixelmator Pro license but cannot download the app for free, you may be signed in to the App Store with a different Apple ID, or your App Store region may have changed. To verify this, you can check your App Store purchase history.

Does Pixelmator Pro support Family Sharing?

Yes! You can share your purchased copy of Pixelmator Pro with your family members for free if you have a family sharing group set up on your App Store account. If you don’t have Family Sharing set up, visit the Apple Support website to learn how.

If you're having trouble setting up Family Sharing, cannot download or update your family purchases, or run into any other issues, give the App Store support team a shout — they should be able to help!

Are there any discounts available for students?

We don't offer specific discounts for students at the moment, but we do have sales on the App Store from time to time. To be among the first to know about these sales, you can follow us on social media or subscribe to our newsletter. That way, you won't miss out on any great offers!

Can I get a Pixelmator Pro and Photomator bundle?

Pixelmator Pro and Photomator do not come in a bundle but if you have a copy of Pixelmator Pro, you can get Photomator with a special 30% discount. The discount applies to the lifetime license of Photomator. See the Photomator FAQ article to learn how you can take advantage of this offer.

How can I apply for a refund?
